Filtration and fluid-loss control, stabilization of water-based or oil-based drilling fluids
Potassium humate is a drilling agent based on humic acids from lignite neutralized with potassium hydroxide.
It is well dispersed in water with formation of colloidal solutions. Designed to reduce fluid loss, dilute and stabilize the rheological properties of drilling fluids.
Acts as an additional source of potassium. It is an active inhibitor that prevents hydration and dispersion of unstable clays, an intense peptizer of a clay solid phase, an effective viscosity reducer, emulsifier and pH regulator.

Rates andrecommendations
Add to all types of drilling fluids either in dry form (directly adding to the solution) or with preliminary hydration of biopolymer in water.
The dosage is adjusted depending on the desired drilling speed, degree of filtration control and fluid loss: 2−25 kg/m3.
