Drilling fluids agent
Consatone ® - potassium lignite-alkaline agent (Potassium Humate)

Filtration and fluid-loss control, stabilization of water-based or oil-based drilling fluids
Potassium humate is a drilling agent based on humic acids from lignite neutralized with potassium hydroxide.

It is well dispersed in water with formation of colloidal solutions. Designed to reduce fluid loss, dilute and stabilize the rheological properties of drilling fluids.

Acts as an additional source of potassium. It is an active inhibitor that prevents hydration and dispersion of unstable clays, an intense peptizer of a clay solid phase, an effective viscosity reducer, emulsifier and pH regulator.

Water soluble potassium humate (potassium salts of humic acids): 90−100%

K2O (on dry matter): minimum 7%

Humidity: maximum 17%

Grinding fineness (particle size): 0−1 mm

Specific gravity: 0,75−0,9

рН in water solution: 9−11,5
Appearance: Powder from brown to dark brown

Packaging: 25 kg 3 layer paper bags with inner lamination.

Fields of application

  • Stabilization of rheological properties of drilling fluids.
    • Ensuring the stability of the wellbore.
    • Can be used in potassium chloride drilling mud systems as a stabilizing agent.
      • Fluid-loss decrease at high temperatures and pressures.
      • Improving the quality of the mud cake.
      • Increase of the efficiency of systems and fluids when drilling unstable clays.

            • Environmentally friendly.
            • Effective at low concentrations.
            • Acts as a thinner for clay drilling fluids.
              • Compatible with all reagents used in the practice of chemical treatment of drilling fluids.
              • Can be used in any type of water-based and oil-based mud.
              • Protects borehole walls from destruction.
              • Reduces the static shear strenght of the mud.
              • Allows to improve the inhibiting properties of solutions.
              • Reduces the filtration rate of clay drilling fluids with a salt content of up to 3%.

                    Rates and recommendations

Add to all types of drilling fluids either in dry form (directly adding to the solution) or with preliminary hydration of biopolymer in water.
The dosage is adjusted depending on the desired drilling speed, degree of filtration control and fluid loss: 2−25 kg/m3.
